Scientific Classification
The shark belongs to the class Chondrichthyes. They mainly have a cartilage skeleton, jaws, paired fins, and paired nostrils.
Most modern sharks have evolved from 100 million years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
One extinct shark is called the Carcharodon megalodon which lived in the Tertiary period over 70 million years ago!
