GRINCH MOVIE MISTAKES
When Cindy is in the Grinch's cave, she has gloves on. Yet when she falls into the trap door, she doesn't have any gloves on.
When the Grinch is building the sled as he is putting the tin sheets on it there is an overview shot where you can see the shaddow of the camera.
After the Grinch unscrews the light bulb in the town Christmas tree, all the lights in the town go dark and the Grinch starts to take off in his sled-thing. When they show a close up of him, the lights are on. Then a few seconds later, the lights are off again
In the post office scene, when Cindy is talking to her dad, you can see post box marked "Grinch" and it has mail in it. Later you are shown a close-up of the Grinch mailbox and it has spider webs in it.
The movie was filmed in a large set to recreate Whoville, but in the mayor's first appearance, if you look in Lou Who's glasses, you can see a stage light from the ceiling above.
When Betty is putting up her lights, Martha May comes out of her house and shows her the old antique chandalier thing. The next thing she shows her is the light machine. In one shot, Martha is shaking while using the machine, in the next she isn't. It keeps changing throughout the scene.
At the end of the movie, when The Grinch's dog is pulling the sleigh full of Christmas gifts up the mountain, the sleigh continues to move upwards the mountain although the dog has stopped pulling it
When the Grinch is messing up the mail in the back room, he takes out a package and puts it in another one. When he takes his hand out the package falls out and lands next to the pile of presents. The mistake is when the camera goes to another shot, the package is not lying on the ground as it was before.
During several of the scenes on the mountain you can tell that the rocks are made of some sort of soft material because you can see them crumple when he gets near them
When Miss Martha May is shooting the lights onto her house you see them lit as they are being feed into and coming out of the machine when the camera is pointing on her but when it's a far off shoot only the lights coming out are lit not the ones on the feeding wheel
When the little girl first sees the Grinch the orange light is spinning around and the you can here a siren. Then when the Grinch speaks it conveniently turns off and back on again when he finishes.
In the middle of Whoville they have a very large Christmas tree. Towards the middle of the movie the Grinch burns it down and the Whos put out an "extra one." When the Grinch is "Santa" and steals all the Whos' presents he also takes the big Christmas tree that's in the centre of Whoville (you can see the tree in the big red bag on the sleigh when he's at the top of Mt. Crumpit). Later all the Whos are singing in a circle around the big tree that the Grinch JUST took. [The tree in his bag is one he took from one of the houses]
As the Grinch enters a house to steal the gifts he lets moths out to "eat" the cloth stockings, this in fact is not true - it is the moth's larvae which eat the cloth.
When Cindy Lou Who goes to the Grinch's cave to invite him to Whoville's Christmas festival, as she knocks on the door, she is wearing pink mittens. But, when she taps the Grinch's shoulder inside a few seconds later, she is wearing lime green mittens.
